About Me
Finding Inspiration in Every Turn
I’m Kai Liu — a multidisciplinary designer and researcher working at the intersection of XR, architecture, and human-centered computing. With a focus on equity and accessibility, I create tools that invite participation, foster empathy, and improve spatial experiences across real and virtual environments.
Beyond Work
When I’m not prototyping or analyzing spatial systems, you’ll likely find me on the tennis court, sketching ideas, skiing down a slope, or capturing street scenes with my camera. I find energy in movement, art, and the outdoors.
SCULPTURE AND MODEL
Physical modeling is not just about scale—it’s about storytelling. These sculptures and study models explore form, material, and the tactile translation of architectural ideas.
SKI, TENNIS AND CLIMBING
I find energy and clarity through motion. Whether carving down a slope, practicing tennis serves, or reaching new heights on a wall, these activities keep me grounded, focused, and creatively refreshed.
ART DRAWING
Drawing is where I started—and where I often return. It helps me observe closely, feel deeply, and experiment freely. My works explore emotion, abstraction, and anatomical form.
PHOTOGRAPHY - ARCHITECTURE
Capturing the built environment helps me see space in new ways. My photos focus on geometry, light, and the way people inhabit structures—an ongoing visual research of cities I live in or travel through.
PHOTOGRAPHY - CITY
I’m drawn to the rhythm and density of cities. Through my lens, I seek to capture fleeting urban moments, dynamic skylines, and the textures of everyday life.
PHOTOGRAPHY - NATURE
Nature photography grounds me. Whether hiking, camping, or simply observing, I document light, scale, and silence—reminders of balance in contrast to fast-paced digital work.
